AGS Press Release

THE AMATEUR GOLF SOCIETY BRINGS COMPETITIVE GOLF ON A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE TO CHICAGO FOR THE 2024 GOLF SEASON

The AGS Tour is launching a 20-event slate in Chicagoland through a partnership with the Chicago District Golf Association

RADNOR, PA - Millions of golfers across the country are faced with a similar problem: they want to play more golf but due to work, family and the prohibitive cost of joining a club, are unable to do so. Rather than put their clubs away and face the prospects of picking the game back up in retirement, our team set out to solve the problem.

The solution is the AGS Tour from the Amateur Golf Society. Our uniquely formatted event series provides golfers of all skill levels the opportunity to compete in fun and friendly tournaments on their schedule. Instead of hosting one or two-day events at a fixed time with a large entry fee, our week-long competitions allow members to tee it up at their convenience during a seven-day window at top public courses, with real-time scoring and tournament management powered by Golf Genius. Featuring four net flights at every event and three sets of season-long leaderboards based on how often you can play, the AGS Tour provides opportunities for all types of golfers with no minimum commitment. Members enjoy exclusive, advanced access to event tee sheets through the AGS app, which also helps facilitate playing partners through our Player Pairing Program. Golfers compete each week for prizes from sponsors and partners, and also earn points on a season-long list, much in the way PGA Tour professionals compete in the FedEx Cup.

“The CDGA is looking forward to a great partnership with the Amateur Golf Society.  Chicago is an area with a plethora of elite public facilities and we are grateful for their enthusiasm in partnering with AGS. We feel that the Amateur Golf Society is a perfect complement to our Championships and Social Competitions calendars, and will provide even more competitive playing opportunities for golfers of all skill levels in our district.” – Robert Markionni, Executive Director, Chicago District Golf Association

In addition to the CDGA, the Amateur Golf Society enjoys partnerships with the Golf Association of Philadelphia, Arizona Golf Association, and is a proud supporting partner of the LPGA.

“The LPGA Amateur Golf Association is focused on connecting women of all abilities to learn, play and enjoy golf. Our 2024 partnership with the AGS Tour will allow us to continue to offer more playing opportunities to women across the country, with a focus on the PA, Chicago and Phoenix metro markets. We are excited to extend this new benefit to our members!” – Mary-Lee Cobick, Senior Vice President, LPGA Foundation

“For too long, amateur golfers have faced a variety of obstacles preventing them from playing more golf. The Amateur Golf Society tackles this challenge head on by providing additional playing opportunities, all-levels competition and unique perks to our membership. We’re thrilled to partner with the CDGA in 2024, and we look forward to expanding our footprint with golf association partners in the years to come.” - Dan Hershberg, CEO/Founder, AGS.
